Getting started with importing Google Reviews

  1. Click on “Create a New Import.”

2. Automatically create a related survey or chose an existing one (for example if you want to use one survey for all your google reviews import).

3. Click on “Complete” — the configuration will be saved, and the page will reload.

4. Click on “Connect.”

A Google page will open; it is essential to log in with the account that has access to Google My Business with the reviews.
Again, We highly recommend using a generic account (googlereviews@companyname)

You can check the available reviews for the account you are using here: https://business.google.com/locations

Feedier will only have access to the locations associated with the account used for authentication.

How the data from Google reviews is fetched ?

  • Import reviews linked to the connected account every hour (00:10, 1:10, 2:10, etc.), 24/7/365.

  • Detect changes or deletions of reviews: If a review is deleted from Google, an attribute review_status will be updated on your Feedbacks in Feedier.

How to filter out my Google Review on Feedier ?

For filtering your google reviews on Feedier be sure to select the attribute review_status accordingly.

A google review is updated online ➡️ attribute review_status = updated in the next hour.

A google review is deleted online ➡️ attribute review_status = deleted within a week (treatments run on Sunday).

Example of filtering on reviews that are currently live on Google :

Why my Feedier review count can differ from Google

At setup, Feedier imports the full history of reviews for each connected location, so the imported total matches the number shown on the Google listing. The difference you may see in a report or dashboard comes only from filtering out reviews whose review_status = deleted.

Google does not provide a live (push) feed, so after the initial import Feedier keeps each review synchronized with Google only for 15 days from the review's original publication date (not its last-edit date). During that 15-day window:

  • an edited review ➡️ review_status = updated (within the hour);

  • a removed review ➡️ review_status = deleted (within a week — treatments run on Sunday);

  • a review temporarily removed / quarantined by Google is treated as deleted for as long as it is quarantined, and flips back to updated once Google restores it.

Important — status is frozen after 15 days. Once a review is older than 15 days it is no longer re-checked against Google. This means a review that was removed or quarantined during its first 15 days and is later restored by Google will remain review_status = deleted in Feedier, even though it is live again on Google. When you filter out review_status = deleted, these reviews are excluded, so the live count can sit below Google's public total.

Two other points to keep in mind:

  • Google's public listing count can itself include reviews it has filtered or quarantined, and its API can lag the public page by hours or days — so a small residual difference is normal even with a perfect sync.

  • Synchronization only works if no review feedback is deleted manually from the platform. Deleting Google feedback by hand permanently breaks the count reconciliation for that location, and removed reviews will no longer be flagged as deleted.

To realign the counts exactly — for example to clear stale deleted flags on older reviews — the import must be removed and re-imported from scratch. Note that a full re-import re-fetches all reviews and does not preserve platform-side actions (assignments, statuses, owner comments made in Feedier).

Which URL to use when doing a Google Reviews competitor import ?

Make sure to use the url once you are positioned on the place on Google Maps.
